
Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy staff members work with the National Park Service to manage park improvement projects, habitat restoration efforts, and education and interpretive programs. Staff also work in fundraising, marketing, community outreach, retail and administrative positions.
The Parks Conservancy facilities are located in San Francisco, Marin, and San Mateo counties. The headquarters is located at Fort Mason in San Francisco; other facilities include Alcatraz Island, the Presidio, Marin Headlands and visitor centers in San Francisco and Marin.
The working environment is casual, accommodates flexible schedules and offers the benefits of working at both a small and large company. Employees of the Parks Conservancy enjoy a variety of benefits that include employer-paid medical, dental and vision coverage, as well as group life, short-term and long-term disability insurance. Other benefits include vacation leave, sick leave and 11 paid holidays, including a "birthday" holiday. Employees are eligible to participate in the Conservancy's retirement plan after 30 days of employment. After one year of employment the Conservancy provides a 2 percent discretionary contribution, plus a match of up to 5 percent.

The Parks Conservancy and National Park Service offer a variety of internship positions in the parks. Full and part-time positions are available, and a minimum six-month commitment is usually requested. Housing and out-of-pocket expenses may be available, upon request, for full-time interns.
